The generative AI in iOS 18 scans texts, identifies keywords and phrases, then summarizes information by recognizing names, companies, people, and locations to form coherent responses.
Apple's on-device AI will be able to summarize information from both Safari and Messages, as well as generate brief summaries of webpages with the new Intelligent Search feature in Safari 18.
Previous hints of Apple's AI plans were seen in iOS 17.4 beta and with Apple internally testing a chatbot referred to as 'Apple GPT', showcasing the company's focus on AI advancements.
