Incoming EU parliament to work on AI liability despite lobby concerns

The European Parliament plans to work on a legal framework to establish liability in cases of faults in AI products as the AI Act becomes effective on 1 August.
The AI Act, the first of its kind globally to regulate high-risk machine learning systems, will come into force soon, with rules for high-risk systems applying in three years.
