"Unlocking the full potential of AI requires an open and collaborative ecosystem that provides customers with choice and accessible solutions," said Justin Hotard, general manager of Intel's data center and AI division.
"By integrating Gaudi 3 AI accelerators and Xeon CPUs with IBM Cloud, we are creating new AI capabilities and meeting the demand for affordable, secure, and innovative AI computing solutions," Hotard continued.
Gaudi 3 offers performance that rivals Nvidia’s offerings, but Intel faces challenges in persuading customers away from established Nvidia relationships.
Intel anticipates generating $500 million in revenue from Gaudi 3 in 2024, which is significantly lower than AMD's $4.5 billion and Nvidia's projected $40 billion.
