Charts: AI Outlook, Employees vs. Execs, Q1 2025
Briefly

According to McKinsey & Company's report "Superagency in the workplace," employees are adopting generative AI faster than expected by their leaders. A survey revealed that 62% of millennials aged 35-44 have strong expertise with AI, while expectations differ by sector; only 20% of workers in the public sector foresee immediate changes due to AI, compared to two-thirds in media and telecom. Importantly, 87% of executives believe generative AI will benefit revenue within three years, with half anticipating gains exceeding 5%.
Eighty-one percent of respondents were from the United States, while the rest represented Australia, India, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.
Public sector, aerospace/defense, and semiconductor workers are less optimistic about AI's near-term impact, with only 20% expecting significant changes to their work in the next year.
