Nwaneri earned the respect of his manager, who praised his performance and said he's already at home in the club's famous colours. 'It was a really strong performance for him. I think he really feels part of us,' Mikel Arteta told TNT Sports. 'You can tell that he's playing with that confidence, that belief and the understanding of what he needs to do on the pitch so very impressed.'
Arsenal are keen to make Nwaneri one of the club's most important players for the future, deciding to quash any suggestions he could leave. They want to make him one of the league's top-paid players for his age, currently earning 20,000-per week. They are set to triple his wages to 60,000 in new contract talks.
Currently, Tottenham's Archie Gray leads with 75,000-per week and Manchester United's Leny Yoro at 114,000-per week in England's top teenage earners. Arsenal’s efforts to secure Nwaneri will position him as the third-highest paid teenager in the Premier League.
Since being promoted to the Gunners' first-team in the summer, Nwaneri, who wears the number 53 shirt, has scored two goals in five appearances in all competitions.
