First customer test drive (and first order) for the Mercedes eIntouro: will be deployed by Eurobus Rustexpress - Sustainable Bus
Briefly

The Mercedes eIntouro intercity electric bus has successfully undergone its first test drive covering 380 kilometers, connecting Swiss Bassersdorf to Europa-Park. Set to debut at Busworld Europe 2025, it marks Daimler's entrance into the electric bus segment, with production commencing in 2026. This new model features LFP batteries and a central motor, differing from the eCitaro range. Available in two lengths and various seating capacities, the eIntouro is designed for interurban, shuttle, and excursion routes, showcasing Daimler’s commitment to electric mobility in public transport.
Before market launch, all newly developed vehicle types at Daimler Buses have to go through a very extensive testing phase. This naturally also applies to the new eIntouro.
The eIntouro will celebrate its world premiere at the Busworld Europe 2025 trade fair in Brussels in October and will mark the debut of Daimler Buses in the nascent intercity electric bus market.
