Škoda has secured a contract to deliver 46 trolleybuses to Esslingen, Germany, enhancing the city's 29-kilometre trolleybus network by an additional five kilometres. These 12 and 18-meter vehicles, built on the Škoda 32Tr and 33Tr platforms, will incorporate battery technology enabling autonomous operation for distances up to 25 km. The total order value is EUR 41,424,600, with an option for an additional 15 units. Additionally, the vehicles will feature modern amenities, including an electric ramp for accessibility, improved seating, and an onboard Wi-Fi network, directly tailored to local transport operator requirements.
