In most cases, the introduction of agile was motivated by a desire to modernize and better deliver high-quality code on time. At Bose, we were evolving into a place where our hardware devices - such as speakers or headphones - were getting more sophisticated and could connect to a phone or the internet for updates.
We had manufacturing schedules to meet but often didn't get all the bug fixes or key features in by the time of launch. Delaying a hardware launch with so many features stacked for a huge release is so painful.
