Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II will miss at least the next three games while being evaluated for swelling and discomfort in his surgically repaired right foot, the team announced Tuesday. Lively underwent surgery on the foot in July to clean out bone spurs. He missed more than two months last season due to a stress fracture in his right ankle.

Brewers catcher William Contreras underwent a minor procedure to repair his broken left middle finger, president of baseball operations Matt Arnold told reporters (link via Adam McCalvy of MLB.com). It'll keep him from participating in baseball activities for 5-6 weeks but is not expected to impact his availability for Spring Training. Contreras played through the fracture for the entire 2025 season.

Sad news for Sarah Zadrazil and FC Bayern Women: the FCB co-captain suffered a cruciate ligament tear in her left knee during the Bundesliga match against SC Freiburg on Tuesday night, as confirmed by scans the following day. The Austrian midfielder was successfully operated on this morning and will be absent from the team for several months. Giulia Gwinn made her comeback in the meeting with Freiburg:

"To be clear, it was while going down the stairs with my suitcase, not at a party. Sorry to those who thought I was an alcoholic," he wrote on Instagram.
