Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr accused ICE of commit[ing] murder when an agent shot and killed protestor Renee Good in Minnesota on Wednesday after she appeared to hit the agent with her SUV. Kerr shared his disgust with ICE and the response from President Donald Trump's administration during a press conference on Friday evening. It's shameful, really, that in our country, we can have law enforcement officers who commit murder and seemingly get away with it, Kerr said.
SACRAMENTO Stephen Curry did not accompany the Warriors on their 90-minute bus ride here late Tuesday night, and by the time Golden State tipped off Wednesday against the Kings, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler had also been ruled out. Without any of the team's top three players, coach Steve Kerr opted to insert rookie guard Will Richard, second-year center Quentin Post and shooting guard Moses Moody into the starting lineup alongside Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga.
Beautiful people out there, and it was a love fest, Kerr said. Music playing, everybody marching peacefully. Everyone I saw 100% loves our country. And as is our country's custom, if you don't agree with what your government is doing, then you peacefully protest, and that's how it should be. We are the democracy, we the people.
I'm not the slightest bit concerned about it, and I don't think about it, Kerr said. I think it makes perfect sense, and I think that however it ends, it's going to be done in a really quality way. It's going to happen in the right way. If it's meant for me to keep going, I'm going to keep going, Kerr continued. If it's meant to be for the team to move on to somebody else, there will be nothing but gratitude and appreciation. This makes it easy for everybody. Let's just see where we are at the end of the year.
"I'm very comfortable going into the season with a year left," Kerr said. "I'm so aligned with [general manager] Mike [Dunleavy] and [owner] Joe [Lacob]. We talked about this -- there's no reason for discussion or concern. This is kind of a point in our relationship where let's just see how it is at the end of the year."
