As the final whistle sounded in the freezing Allianz Arena early on Saturday evening, it left some people wondering how this happened - and when, indeed, this did last happen. Parting ways at 2-1 (1-0) against FC Augsburg, Saturday's match marked FC Bayern's first Bundesliga defeat of the season on matchday 19. Their last defeat at home had been on 8 th March 2025.
"It was a close game where we also had our chances," Hjulmand said. "We didn't put in our best performance, and we need to improve; we didn't find the right solutions, especially in the first 15 minutes. "We know where we stand. We've also played very well against direct rivals. We are looking ahead and have every opportunity to be more effective."
It was the latest display of Arsenal's power and aggression, their remorselessness. And when it was over, this Carabao Cup semi-final felt firmly within their grip. But for a late goal from the Chelsea substitute, Alejandro Garnacho, his second of an eventful cameo, it would surely have been over. Even so, it was difficult on this evidence to predict anything other than Arsenal progressing into the final; moving closer to a rare piece of silverware under Mikel Arteta
At last, Morocco have arrived at the tournament they are hosting. For four games they had played scratchy, crabbed football. Finally, in a spiky, ill-tempered quarter-final, there was something more like the Morocco that reached the semi-final of the World Cup just over three years ago. If the game wasn't fluent, that was largely Cameroon's doing as they spoiled and sought treatment.
Bad to worse for Rangers and Rohl! Awful marking from a set piece as Jacob Sorensen bundles the ball into the net, doubling Brann's lead! This is woeful stuff from the Scottish side. Appointed only on Monday, this is Danny Rohl's first game in charge of Rangers, who are 1-0 down at half-time to Norwegian side Brann. Emil Kornvig scored a tap-in at teh back post after a deflected cross.
