Eva Olid will leave Hearts at the end of the season after five years, having recently achieved a significant victory against Glasgow City.
The annual accolade, awarded by the Basque side, is a celebration of iconic players who have dedicated their careers to a single team. Murray, 38, played for the Easter Road side from 2004 until 2024 to become their longest-serving player before moving into life as a coach, winning the Scottish Women's Premier League twice, the Scottish Cup seven times and the Scottish League Cup on five occassions.
"The reality is that you're expected and you need to win and being second best is ultimately unacceptable," Crichton told BBC Scotland. "They've won four trophies from six, which I think is really admirable, but ultimately for us it will be a real focus on the league title. It's the one that's been missing and we know with that comes the lure of European football."
"When you're announcing your first squad, nothing is ever straightforward, but when I started watching games and seeing the experience, the decision-making that she'll bring to this team, it was an easy decision after that."
