During the festivities, the Rangers recalled defenseman Scott Morrow from Hartford, returning the previously recalled Connor Mackey to Hartford. Morrow was initially recalled for the Rangers road trip out west, but was returned following a few injuries that necessitated roster moves. Space for Morrow was created when the Rangers finally got healthy and waived Juuso Parssinen to create room for Morrow.
The New York Rangers have returned defenseman Connor Mackey to the Hartford Wolf Pack. Mackey was recalled five days ago after Carson Soucy's suspected concussion, but never dressed for a game. Following the recent recall of Scott Morrow-who has a skill set the Rangers sorely need on the blue line-and confirmation that Will Borgen is good to go, it made little sense to keep an 8th healthy defenseman on the roster.
After losing in OT the night before, the NY Rangers prospects responded with a dominant 5-2 win over the Flyers prospects. Brennan Othmann had a fantastic outing with 3 assists, Gabe Perreault had a key primary power play assist and the empty netter to put the game away, Scott Morrow had 2 assists, and Callum Tung stopped 21 of 23 shots for the win. The big guns showed up and solidified their spots as the top guys in the rookie series.
