DOT to begin reducing speed limits near schools, safe streets, open streets

The city is limiting speeds to 20 mph on 15 streets in Brooklyn in compliance with Sammy's Law, named after Sammy Cohen Eckstein. The law gives the city authority to reduce speed limits near schools, Open Streets, Shared Streets, and similar areas.
