Chelsea and Arsenal are pursuing Newcastle defender Lewis Hall, with Chelsea currently leading the race for the 21-year-old left back.
Eight of the ten clubs in the top half of the Premier League table are owned by Americans. In the Championship, four of the eight clubs battling for promotion are U.S.-owned, including the Ryan Reynolds-Rob McElhenney Wrexham project.
Shadow chancellor Sir Mel Stride said the government "must not delay" in taking decisive steps to release the funds, arguing that the money should already have been deployed to support humanitarian efforts linked to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. He warned that, more than two years after the sale, the continued freeze was becoming increasingly difficult to justify given the scale of need on the ground.
Strangely, the UK government appears to be treating this proposed donation as a form of punitive measure against Mr Abramovich. This is fundamentally incorrect. It is important to emphasise that the funds - although currently frozen - remain the property of Fordstam Limited, which is wholly owned by Mr Abramovich. Should the UK government believe it has the legal basis to confiscate these funds instead, it is of course open to initiate formal confiscation proceedings, which will be contested in court.
I think it's probably not a question for me to answer. Maybe some other people in the club can answer that question. But for sure, every player and member of staff, recognise what Paul did for this club and all the success he brought from the beginning. We are all really thankful for that. I think he laid the foundations from the beginning and has been a huge part of the success of this club. I think he will be missed at this club for sure.

I think they will be thinking, what can we do to help Liam as much as possible to get wins on the board and to be successful. I think that's their mindset, and rightly so. You know, Maresca has done absolutely magnificent. He's put them into the Champions League. He's won a cup. He's won the Club World Cup. He's done exceptionally. What has happened has happened, but it's history. You know, you need to look forward. And looking forward is Liam.
Not annoyed, probably more frustrated, because I was certainly part of that Under‐21s group that went over. So even if I didn't take the team ... Calum took the team, did really well, got a result out of the [Manchester City] game. I feel like I should have been part of that.
