Cali indiepop greats Rocketship are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1996 debut album A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness by giving it its first vinyl pressing since the original release. Sugar, the alt-rock band Bob Mould formed after Hüsker Dü 's split, announced last fall that they were reuniting for just two London and New York shows in May 2026. Now that those concerts sold out, Sugar have plotted an entire tour to celebrate their big return - their first in over 30 years. The Head and The Heart have announced they will play their self-titled debut album in full on a 15th anniversary tour this May. Folk act The Brudi Brothers will open each show. "It always happens at some point," Rob Pursey says in reference to "twee," a descriptor that has dogged he and partner Amelia Fletcher's bands for 40 years. It was a word often used as derogatory by music journalists, but like a lot of genres - shoegaze, trip-hop - it's become accepted and embraced by many who have listened to their band Heavenly in the nearly two decades between breaking up and reforming in 2023.

Taking place this summer, the 20-plus date trek includes the group's return to Vans Warped Tour, with confirmed appearances at all five scheduled dates of the traveling festival in Washington, DC, Long Beach, Montreal, Mexico City, and Orlando. Additionally, JEW will play headlining amphitheaters shows with support from a rotating cast of emo luminaries, including Sunny Day Real Estate, The Get Up Kids, Minus the Bear, Motion City Soundtrack, Girls Against Boys, and more.

"When I read the fine print, it was 'an experience with REO Speedwagon's music.' It's none of the original members," Fletcher recalls. "I don't want to promote the show unless it's the real thing. I don't know why you would want to see that. It's just a cover band. To me, that's a little bit strange." He adds, with a sigh, "If there are no original members, who cares?"

Fresh off a trek with the B-52's late last year, the band announced a West Coast run aptly titled the Mutate, Don't Stagnate tour, and has now filled out its 2026 schedule with a batch of June dates in Eastern North America. All those shows will take place ahead of Devo's remaining Cosmic De-Evolution Tour gigs with the B-52's, in England.
