It made science very lonely for a while, and I feel like one of the great benefits of working in science, at academic centers, is the collaborative nature of it.

During graduate school at the University of Birmingham, UK, I used analytical chemistry to study metabolomics and metabolism. I hadn't necessarily planned to do a postdoc position, but I came across this project at AstraZeneca that really spoke to me.
