Peacemaker star Freddie Stroma has sparked a wave of thirst from fans after a scene from the most recent episode of the DC television series showed Vigilante in just some wet white briefs. It's been a big few weeks for male celebrities in (or out) of their underwear, with Chris Evans wearing a jockstrap in lesbian detective flick Honey, Don't!, and KJ Apa getting his "hairy" bum out for new film The Map That Leads to You.
As Langston Fleury - an A.R.G.U.S. agent sent, theoretically, to assist Economos as he monitors Chris Smith's house - Meadows spends most of the episode gleefully needling his colleague instead: debating the plural of "Pokémon," applying the unwelcome (but extremely sticky) nickname "Ginger Cool," and revealing what he says is his sole weakness: bird blindness, a rare condition that makes him unable to distinguish, say, between a hummingbird or a vulture.
In Peacemaker's first season finale, Cena's character met up with the Justice League from the previous film universe, including Jason Momoa's Aquaman and Ezra Miller's Flash. The rest of the team was mostly obscured in shadows and only seen as silhouettes, but Momoa and Miller's presence makes it clear they're likely accompanied by Henry Cavill's version of Superman, who portrayed the superhero from 2013 to 2023. This ties Peacemaker to the old continuity, which again complicates Cena's appearance in .
So much has happened to the DC Universe since Peacemaker was last on HBO Max. In the time since, James Gunn rose to become overlord of all of DC Studios. A terrible Flash movie here, an acclaimed Superman reboot there. Peacemaker returns when the DCU has been born anewand quite fittingly, Christopher Smith (John Cena, reliably excellent) feels cast out in this universe. So it stands to reason he'll go somewhere where he's actually appreciated. Wouldn't you?
So much has changed in the three-and-a-half years "Peacemaker" has been off the air that Season 2 can't even start before fans come face to face with significant tweaks. The Season 1 recap that plays ahead of the Season 2 premiere (in the critics' screeners, at least) replaces the finale's original Justice League cameos (Jason Momoa's Aquaman and Ezra Miller's The Flash) with appearances from Justice Gang members Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion) and Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced).
