Is it still worth buying an EV after tax changes made in the Budget?

Electric cars remain cheaper to run than petrol cars for drivers who charge at home despite a new 3p-per-mile tax from April 2028.

A proposed 3p-per-mile charge would add about £250 yearly for EV drivers to recoup lost fuel duty revenues.

UK drivers prefer vehicle tax charged by usage; 29% favor mileage-based charges and many support higher payments for greater mileage or emissions.
