Patreon is asking a federal judge to declare the Video Privacy Protection Act unconstitutional, which would allow businesses to share customers' video data with third parties.
The Video Privacy Protection Act was passed in 1988 after a reporter shared the video rental history of a Supreme Court nominee. The law requires written consent to share sensitive video data. [ more ]
