Pasadena fire captain sexually abused children for more than two decades, prosecutors allege

A captain with the Pasadena Fire Department has been charged with nine counts of committing lewd acts with a minor under age 14. Prosecutors allege he sexually abused three victims over a period spanning more than two decades. Christopher James Ramstead, 47, of Thousand Oaks was arrested Wednesday and, if convicted, faces up to 135 years to life in state prison, according to the L.A. County district attorney's office. He pleaded not guilty Monday and was ordered held without bail.
