Another slow Tuesday on the news front calls for a continuation of our Atlanta Braves player review series. This week, we take a look at Ozzie Albies, who ended his season with an unfortunate hand injury. Our draft target series continues with shortstop Eric Becker out of the University of Virginia. Gabe Burns of the AJC reported that Aaron Schunk will be in camp as a non-roster invite.

Ozzie Albies did not have a good 2025 season - after departing Monday night's game with a season-ending hamate bone injury, he'll finish with 1.3 fWAR. That mark isn't the result of any notable inputs underperformance on offense, and his defense has dipped back into the below-average range. Though his hitting picked up in the latter half of the season, that's really just driven by a strong three weeks in September:

Zuber gave up a leadoff double in the ninth to Ozuna, who was replaced by pinch-runner White. After Albies popped out and Nacho Alvarez Jr. walked, Josh Simpson replaced Zuber. Vidal Bruján hit the next pitch to left field for a double that drove in White and Baldwin followed with a two-run single. Ronald Acuña Jr. drew a bases-loaded walk, White hit a two-run single and Albies capped Atlanta's nine-run ninth with a three-run homer.
