Bisgaard-Church spoke to Dave Colon earlier this year about the "Fix the MTA" campaign that Mamdani waged early in his tenure as a state legislator. I will be voting for Andrew Cuomo, not because he's perfect, but because he's capable of leading the largest city in America while his opponent Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old with almost no work experience, is a dangerous ideologue who will continue to fan the flames of anti-Jewish hatred. While I urge everyone to vote their conscience, it's important that we be honest about who Mamdani is, what he stands for, and sadly how some within the Jewish community have tried to make Mamdani seem kosher.

A group of students, eager to explore the halls of power in Washington, D.C., found their path blocked by closed doors. But instead of sending them home disappointed, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, whose district includes parts of the Bronx, stepped in. She didn't just say hello to them she personally led them on a tour of the Capitol and turned what could have been a major letdown into a civics lesson they will never forget.

Donald J. Trump once again threatened New York City if people elect Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani, writing on Truth Social that he will withhold federal funds if Mamdani secures a victory. And that looks likely because Mamdani is ahead in the polls. Mamdani is the opposite politically of Trump, with the latter profiting from his presidency while yanking away health care from millions of Americans.

"When I left, New York was the place you wanted to be, and now people just don't speak well of it. But we're going to bring it back, and we're going to bring it back strong," Trump said of the city at a 2024 Madison Square Garden campaign rally. Since then, his administration has made big moves in New York City by dropping corruption charges against the city's mayor, fighting the city's congestion pricing program.

Democratic socialists in New York City plan to challenge five House incumbents, including Hakeem Jeffries, empowered by Zohran Mamdani's recent primary win.

"All of these things sound good because the affordability issue is real. I grew up in poverty. I grew up on the verge of homelessness. I know what it is to be struggling. I know where poverty is. He grew up in luxury. He doesn't know the real story of a New Yorker and how difficult it is. I think nothing is more harmful than promising things to people you know you can't deliver. That's wrong to do, and I'm going to let New Yorkers know that."

The partnership between Zohran Mamdani and New York City Comptroller Brad Lander doesn't just showcase an unusual alliance. It provides a road map for Democrats, whose future success will require a different kind of politics than the left currently favors: one that sets aside purity tests and commits to building coalitions across ideological divides.

While vast in geography, the core of Cuomo's support comes from the Black electorate in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. The former governor also performs strongly in white-majority homeowner areas.
