The Washington Nationals continued their winning ways in major fashion on Monday evening. Following a sweep of the Miami Marlins last week and a series victory over the Chicago Cubs in the last week, the Nationals won their 6th game in their last 7 played, and have looked like an entirely different team as of recently. Monday nights contributors came from everywhere, as every single start in the Nationals lineup recorded at least 1 hit.

The Mets are set to promote top pitching prospect for his major league debut, reports Will Sammon of The Athletic. They'll need to clear space on both the 40-man and 26-man rosters in order to formally select his contract from Triple-A Syracuse.

Brandon Sproat is making it nearly impossible for the Mets to keep him down in the minors for much longer. The 24-year-old has hit his stride with Triple-A Syracuse after a bobble upon his promotion from Double-A Binghamton. He went six innings on Tuesday night, allowing just one run on two hits with eight strikeouts. Over his last nine starts (48.1 innings pitched), he has a 2.05 ERA with 57 strikeouts and a 0.850 WHIP.
