He produced a 14.7 SO/9 rate and 0.969 WHIP, and 0.7 HR/9 rate, allowing just eight home runs across all of his appearances. Trey Yesavage will make his MLB debut Monday as the Blue Jays' starter against the Tampa Bay Rays. Yesavage was the Blue Jays' 20th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft and pitched three seasons at East Carolina from 2022–2024. In 2025 he advanced rapidly through the minors from Single-A Dunedin to Triple-A before receiving a major-league call-up. Over 25 appearances (22 starts) in 2025 he posted a 3.12 ERA in 98 innings with 160 strikeouts, a 14.7 SO/9 rate, 0.969 WHIP and 0.7 HR/9. Manager John Schneider announced the start, and the club has not finalized Yesavage's long-term role; he could continue starting or work as a bulk reliever.
