Sessa's charming stage presence, irresistible Portuguese vocals, and the whole band's groovy sunshine energy made the entire room fall in love with the musicians from São Paulo.
Polymarket announced on X that the grand opening is scheduled for Friday, positioning the launch as both a gathering place and a live window into world events. The company describes the spot as 'the world's first bar dedicated to monitoring the situation,' and plans to fill it with the same information streams traders follow online. Inside, guests will see walls of screens carrying social media feeds, flight tracking maps, Bloomberg terminals, and dashboards showing live prediction market odds.
We had way too much fun playing Menos el Oso on the Fall run last year so we're gonna do it again! This time we're hitting some of our favorite towns that we couldn't squeeze into the last itinerary plus we just couldn't pass up a chance to play with Jimmy on their Bleed American tour.

Vans Warped Tour has been rolling out the bands one at a time via social media posts, but is now unveiling the fill D.C. lineup (save for three mystery acts). While Warped doesn't delineate headliners, instead putting out alphabetical lineup posters, standout acts include Jimmy Eat World, Coheed and Cambria, Rise Against, Killswitch Engage, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory, Underoath, and The Used.
Whatever they are, it's clear Umphrey's McGee defies all genres. That's probably why this band draws an audience of hippies, rockers and "normies" with their collective jams and meticulous playing, combining the most unlikely of genres like electronic and metal with folk and soul.
I've never had such a significant moment around a venue launch. It's the seventh venue we've done, but it has never coincided with such an important creative moment with the band. I have to be very disciplined right now.
One of the under appreciated perks of living in the DC area is the unfettered access to free cultural and educational experiences. It's easy to forget how lucky we are to have spaces like Millennium Stage -until you visit venues in other cities and are required to pay *gasp* an entrance/ticket fee. Now that the temperature is back in double digits and the snowcrete is finally melting, there's no better time to venture out to Millennium Stage.
The clues, presented in three photo slides designed by illustrator Halsey Berryman, feature a slew of images: the cross-section of a tree trunk, red dice, dumplings - or bao - and chopsticks, a rodent, red blooming flowers, banana slugs, a white cowboy hat, and a mallard, just to name a few.

The Keller is profitable, popular, and central to downtown's recovery. It is time to stop the time-wasting charade and make a decision that reflects fiscal responsibility and the will of Portlanders.
A band called Ad Nauseam is dead set on keeping grunge alive in Portland, but no local venue will return their calls to play a show. Like the most iconic grunge acts, Ad Nauseam has deep PNW roots. They deliver sludgy, whining guitar licks and haunting, sandpapery vocals. They've even got an angsty tune called "Scab Pimple" for goodness sake. So why can't they land a gig? Well, it might be because all four band members are between the ages of 10 and 16.
Four events - Field Day, Cross the Tracks, City Splash and Mighty Hoopla - will take place from May 23-31. Summer Events Ltd, which runs the Brockwell Live series, submitted its first full planning application in 2025. This was the first time that planning permission had to be granted for the festivals to run in the park - until the legal battle which was won by anti-festival campaign group Protect Brockwell Park (PBP) in 2025.
In 1840, when Francis Preston Blair and his daughter came across a "mica-flecked" spring near present-day Georgia Avenue, he fell in love with the land and built a summer home there-calling it "Silver Spring" after the minerals he spied in the water. The area boomed as a major retail center after World War II, suffered through a period of decline in the '80s when prominent businesses including Hecht's department store relocated, and enjoyed a rebirth in the aughts after construction of a downtown mall, now called Ellsworth Place.

Los Angeles black metallers Agriculture released one of our favorite albums of 2025 with their sophomore LP, The Spiritual Sound, in October, and they wrapped up the winter leg of their tour supporting it with a trio of NYC shows, headlining Bowery Ballroom on Friday (2/13) with support from Knoll, playing a matinee on Saturday afternoon (2/14) at Rough Trade, and heading to Baby's All Right on Saturday night, with Ekko Astral and Peace Through Strength (Jack Tobias and Zack Borzone of YHWH Nailgun).

At only 17 years old, the Eugene, Ore., native Maria Telesheva is already an accordion wizard. I have trouble simply pushing the right button in an elevator. So watching Telesheva's fingers fly gracefully over more than 200 buttons on her bayan, as the instrument is called in Russia, is a thrill. She makes the tightly braided voices in J.S. Bach's thicket of counterpoint sing and dance.
