Dundee United face playing four matches in 14 days on their weather-beaten Tannadice Park pitch after a request for postponed games to be rearranged for later dates was turned down. United will host Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Tuesday, 24 February, while the visit by St Mirren will be on Tuesday 3 March. Jim Goodwin's side were already due to host League 2 outfit Spartans in a rearranged Scottish Cup last-16 tie next Tuesday - and Kilmarnock in the league four days later.
Saturday's scheduled League Two matches at Oldham Athletic, Chesterfield and Accrington Stanley have been postponed while Salford City's FA Cup tie at home to Swindon Town has also succumbed to freezing conditions. Thursday pitch inspections at Boundary Park and SMH Group Stadium found the playing surfaces frozen, while a pitch inspection at Stanley on Friday also led to their fixture being postponed.
Sunday's Championship game between Sheffield United and Oxford United is one of numerous EFL matches postponed because of frozen pitches. Seven fixtures have been called off in League Two and two more have fallen to the freezing weather in League One. In a statement, the Blades said a referee looked at the Bramall Lane pitch before the scheduled 12:00 GMT kick-off and found parts of the playing surface were frozen.
