Anthony Finale got into a quarrel with his killler on Avenue T near E. 57th St. in Mill Basin about 12:15 p.m. Nov. 24, cops said. Cops responding to a 911 call for an assault found Finale unconscious and unresponsive with head trauma. Medict rushed him in critical condition to Brookdale University Hospital, where he died Dec. 14.
The four State Police members facing criminal charges related to the 2024 death of recruit Enrique Delgado-Garcia have been suspended with pay, the agency said. Lt. Jennifer Penton and Troopers Edwin Rodriguez, David Montanez, and Casey LaMonte were initially relieved of duty last week. The State Police held duty status hearings for each of the four members, after which they could have been retained on full duty, placed on restricted duty, suspended with pay, or suspended without pay.
Ex-NYPD officer Stanley Cadet, 27, of North Babylon, was off-duty and allegedly driving at more than 100 mph alongside Kayla Lopez, 28, of Bay Shore, at 2:20 a.m. on May 11, 2024. The two drivers ran a red light and drove side-by-side for half a mile on Union Boulevard in West Islip - a single-lane road - when their cars collided, according to a release from New York Attorney General Letitia James' office.
According to Berkshire District Attorney Timothy J. Shugrue, at least three other children on the same field trip alerted a site supervisor that the Pittsfield student was unable to swim and had gone underwater.
