A Miami-Dade judge denied bond for Antonio Wilcox Jr., a 25-year-old driver facing charges for a crash that resulted in five fatalities, including four children. The incident occurred when Wilcox collided with a Nissan Maxima at high speed, sending it into another vehicle. The crash claimed the lives of three siblings and their grandmother, while another sibling died later in the hospital. Wilcox faces multiple manslaughter charges and could receive a lengthy prison sentence if convicted. Judge Mindy Glazer expressed concerns about his threat to the community, citing the alcohol found in his system despite not being above the legal limit.
Miami Gardens Police Sergeant Emmanuel Jeanty said this is the worst crash he has ever seen in his nearly 10 years working in law enforcement.
Judge Mindy Glazer stated, 'I believe Wilcox poses a great danger to this community and the fact he killed five people driving'.
