Sean CoughlanRoyal correspondent King Charles successfully poured a "perfect" pint of Guinness on a Christmas visit to a new brewery in London's Covent Garden, where he tasted his pint-pulling efforts. This was his first public visit since the King's video message revealing "good news" about the positive progress of his cancer treatment - and he seemed to be really enjoying the moment.
King Charles is set to share a personal cancer update tonight in a video message during Stand Up To Cancer programmes on Channel 4. The King's message will be broadcast on Friday (12 December) as a part of a joint campaign by Cancer Research UK and Channel 4. It will emphasise the vitalness of cancer screening programmes, which can help detect and get an early diagnosis. The message was recorded during the last week of November in Clarence House's morning room.
I was absolutely riveted by what Kyle said, the King told the group. The King, speaking unscripted, called for joined-up action across government, charities and local organisations.
King Charles emphasized the need for unity, stating, 'While the horrors will never be forgotten, we may take comfort from the way such events rally communities together in solidarity, solace and determination.'
