Kia has reduced the starting price of the EV6 crossover by at least $5,000, making it more affordable than the Tesla Model Y.
Kia was one of the first legacy automakers to launch great EVs, with the EV6 and EV9 arriving to critical acclaim. But both posted huge sales declines last month, in part due to an industry-wide EV slowdown. That's not the whole story, though, as the mechanically identical Hyundai Ioniq 5 is selling far better than the EV6. Here's what's going on.
Swedish used car broker Kvdbil analyzed data from 1,300 used EVs and plug-in hybrids to determine how the cars' batteries have aged. Not only did it provide some interesting insight into how used battery-powered cars fare years later, but it also helped crown one particular EV king of battery health: the Kia EV6. And right behind it is the electric Kia Niro, too.
