The part of the story that keeps getting swept under the rug is that Woltemade wanted to move to Bayern Munich, but VfB Stuttgart refused to sell him to the Bavarians even for a price that was considered to be above market value. That frustrated Woltemade, strained his relationship with Stuttgart, and eventually led to Newcastle United swooping in. The whole situation has left a bad taste in the mouth of Bayern Munich, something which Rummenigge had no probably detailing to the media.

Carragher believes that he is a quality player who deserves to play at a high level, but his performances have been underwhelming this season, and he's one of the reasons why West Ham have struggled as a team.
