The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office reported that one man and one juvenile died in separate drowning incidents along the Russian River on Sunday. The first incident occurred at Monte Rio Beach, where two juveniles were struggling. Bystanders rescued one, but the second juvenile went missing. After 20 minutes underwater, deputies located the second juvenile, but CPR was unsuccessful, and the child was declared dead at the scene.
"She's almost my kid's age," said Mahmud, a father of three from Elmhurst, Queens. "After all, I believe in the Judgement Day. I have to stand in front of my God, that's the reason why I forgive her. If I forgive her, God will forgive me."
