At Monte Rio Beach, two juveniles were struggling in the water, one rescued safely, while the other was discovered submerged after 20 minutes and later pronounced deceased despite CPR efforts. A separate incident shortly after involved an adult male found unresponsive in the water at Martinelli Beach, who was also declared dead at the scene despite attempts at resuscitation. Investigations for both occurrences are ongoing.
