Marilyn Minter won the 2026 Anderson Ranch International Artist Award amid a wave of museum appointments, gallery signings, and leadership changes.
Brooklyn Museum Fills Its Top Contemporary Curator Spot Robert Wiesenberger was named senior curator of contemporary art at the Brooklyn Museum, a post that has been vacant since the departure of Eugenie Tsai in 2023. He comes from the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts, where he was curator of contemporary projects, and was previously a curatorial fellow at the Harvard Art Museums.
At this year's Frieze London and Art Basel Paris fairs, many visitors were surprised to find works by an unexpected artist: Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama. Rama-who secured an unprecedented fourth term in May after campaigning to bring Albania into the EU-is also an established artist. Trained at Tirana's Academy of Fine Arts, he spent several years working in Paris before turning to politics in the late 1990s.
Marianne Boesky Gallery Now Represents Aubrey Levinthal: The gallery, which is working in collaboration with Edinburgh's Ingleby and Berlin's Haverkampf Leistenschneider, will feature the Philadelphia-born painter's work at Art Basel Miami Beach ahead of her debut solo exhibition in spring 2027.
