Responding to a report of multiple unresponsive individuals at 44 Liege St., Providence emergency personnel found four people on the front lawn and three more being carried outside the house. First responders treated the students with Narcan and transported them to nearby hospitals, where they were deemed "conscious and alert," the Providence Police Department said. On Saturday, detectives identified a suspect believed to have supplied narcotics to one of the students who overdosed, Providence police said.
Monterey police said 53-year-old Sean Klinger called 9-1-1 just after 7 a.m. on Sunday, and said he was trying to sleep, that there were protesters on Del Monte Avenue and that he was going to shoot them. The caller said he was walking down Park Avenue with an AR-style rifle and mentioned the marathon before hanging up. Dispatchers and officers attempted to call the man back, but he did not answer. At the time, the Monterey Bay Half Marathon had just begun.
Two men from Michigan have been accused of plotting an ISIS-inspired terrorist attack in Detroit, targeting LGBTQ+ bars. Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud, both 20 and from Dearborn, have been accused of conspiring with at least five unnamed individuals and a minor, identified as "Person 1", to carry out an ISIS-inspired shooting attack on Halloween night, according to an FBI affidavit.
