The first operation followed a four-month long investigation into a "sophisticated" drug trafficking ring spanning Massachusetts and Puerto Rico, ending with six simultaneous search warrants executed in Springfield, MSP said. The second operation focused on a mid-level fentanyl trafficker in the greater Springfield area, according to MSP."
"As a result of both operations, MSP said six individuals were arrested and law enforcement seized a large cache of firearms - 15 handguns, six rifles, 11 large capacity magazines, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. They also reported confiscating approximately 8.5 kilograms of cocaine and 30,000 bags of fentanyl, along with roughly $63,000 in U.S. currency. The names of those arrested have not yet been released."
