BERKELEY, Calif. -- As a student at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, writer and director Alex Woo's goal was to make an animated feature film. "Every film student and every aspiring filmmaker, what they want to do is they want to make a feature film on the biggest scale. That was always the dream," Woo shares. After partnering with fellow animators Stanley Moore and Tim Hahn, Woo started Kuku Studios in Berkeley, California.
The film, which is awaiting a title, dropped an official synopsis upon first announcement, which reads: "Best friends Tess and DeeDee, train stewardesses who trade their dreary shifts on the Stank Rail for the glitzy Glamazonian Express. "When a catastrophic 'Stormganza' threatens to derail the high-speed train and crash it into Los Angeles, the duo in coach must join forces with the snobby first class attendants, and President Gagwell to save the day."
Han will direct the film as well as co-write it with Sarah Kucserka. Plot details are being kept firmly under wraps for the time being. A release date has also not been mentioned. "There is another big milestone left in Belly's journey," said Han. "And I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I'm so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans."
