ANTIOCH In an effort to meet requirements in a deal between the city and U.S. Department of Justice, two members of the Antioch Police Oversight Commission were added Tuesday to the oversight body. The Antioch City Council unanimously voted to reappoint Porshe Taylor, the commission's former chairperson, to a three-year term that expires in 2028. Her previous term ended in November 2025. The council also approved the appointment of Josiah Ben-Oni Graham to fill a partial-term vacancy that expires in November.
Landlords could no longer rely on rent-pricing software to quietly track each other's moves and push rents higher using confidential data, under a settlement between RealPage Inc. and federal prosecutors to end what critics said was illegal "algorithmic collusion." The deal announced Monday by the Department of Justice follows a yearlong federal antitrust lawsuit, launched during the Biden administration, against the Texas-based software company. RealPage would not have to pay any damages or admit any wrongdoing.
President Donald Trump has pardoned Changpeng Zhao, the founder of the world's largest crypto exchange Binance, the White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed to Fortune on Thursday. "President Trump exercised his constitutional authority by issuing a pardon for Mr. Zhao, who was prosecuted by the Biden Administration in their war on cryptocurrency," she said in a statement. The Wall Street Journal first broke the news, reporting that Trump signed the pardon on Wednesday.
