3 hours agoBarcelona forests on lockdown: diseased wild boar
Catalonia has confirmed its first cases of African Swine Fever (ASF) since 1994 after two infected wild boars were found dead near the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona campus. Authorities have immediately imposed strict measures, including a total ban on entering forests and natural areas in 12 surrounding towns. While swine fever cannot be contracted by humans, for dogs, cats and even horses, it can prove fatal.
