Motorists on the M25 are experiencing significant delays due to two distinct crashes occurring on Friday afternoon. A major multi-vehicle incident at Junction 1B has left traffic stacking up for 8 miles in both directions surrounding the Dartford Crossing, with two lanes closed across a significant stretch. Traffic monitor Inrix.com reports that this intense congestion is compounded by a second crash between Junction 16 and Junction 17, where three lanes have also been shut down, leading to another five-mile tailback.
The 20-year-old Norwegian was hit with a 200 Swiss Franc fine, was docked 15 UCI ranking points and penalised 30 seconds but that was the least of his worries.
