Usually, pro esports players are hesitant to change up their peripherals, especially before a big tournament. Getting comfortable with a new keyboard or mouse can be especially daunting when, y'know, your entire job is on the line. But a new mouse is making waves in a Counter-Strike 2 tournament as players try to get any edge they can in the team-based shooter.
Modder Froddoyo introduced Project Misriah on November 16 as "a workshop collection of Halo ported maps and assets that aims to bring a Halo 3 multiplayer-like experience to Counter-Strike 2." Far from just being inspired by Halo 3, the mod directly copied multiple sound effects, character models, maps, and even movement mechanics from Bungie and Microsoft's popular series.
"It's something I think Valve does not get anywhere near enough criticism about," Hall told Eurogamer. "I'm honestly disgusted with gambling mechanics in video games at all--they have absolutely no place. My challenge to game developers is that if they think these things are not a problem, they make the data available to universities who are crying out to study this stuff."
