Traditionally, these types of papers were printed by hand using hand-carved block prints, but now they're usually digitally printed. In fact, block print was the first wallpaper produced, back in the 17th century, which gives its modern counterpart a historic charm.

When Lauren Whitfield, a content creator with an interior design degree, wanted to renovate her home's kitchen, she turned to her husband, who used to work in the trades, as her co-captain. "Our kitchen before was very cramped and dark," she says. "We wanted to create a space that felt inviting and cozy, while also being opened up to the living and dining rooms."

For years, it's been all about leopards, but now, sheep seem to be the design world's newest fauna fixation. AT's executive home director, Danielle Blundell, even bought a sheep piece for her home recently! And it makes sense: Sheep's fluffy woolen coats and barnyard aesthetic evoke the outdoorsy, cottagecore coziness we tend to gravitate toward this time of year.

One of TikTok's "core" offspring, the ultra-romantic aesthetic of eyelets, lace, and floral prints galore, got its name from the image it evokes. Picture it: slow afternoons traipsing across grassy fields, plucking flowers in a basket, and sipping tea from floral-lined cups in your grandma's cottage. And no one does the aesthetic better than Hosk. Thankfully, Hosk made it easy for cottagecore-curious savants to try the trend.

Cottagecore is absolutely still having a moment, especially as spring approaches when floral designs become especially inspiring for decor options.
