Angels claimed contact-oriented outfielder Wade Meckler off waivers from the Giants, adding speed and defense with uncertain major-league offensive translation.
On the season Luke appeared in 91 games for the Stripers and hit a very respectable .272/.364/.340 in those games good for a 98 wRC+. With offense not really being his calling card, being able to tune in with a solid line while providing solid defense up the middle, Luke gave the Braves organization really good value despite the injury struggles. He rarely struck out (12% K%), walked at a good rate (12%), and found his MaxEV all the way up to 109 MPH.
Clohisy went back to Rome and spent 92 games there, hitting .247/.338/.330 with 16 doubles, two triples, and three homers with 45 walks to 76 strikeouts over 405 plate appearances. He finally got promoted to Double-A and hit .270/.328/.384 with four doubles, a triple, and four homers with 11 walks to 29 strikeouts in 174 plate appearances. He combined to hit .254/.335/.346 with 79 steals on the season.
