Remote job postings often mislead applicants, with many listings being ghost jobs that do not lead to actual hiring.
Hays has unveiled deep workforce cuts as it intensifies cost-saving efforts amid a prolonged downturn in the global jobs market, reducing consultancy headcount by 14%.
"For the first time, a rigid office attendance mandate has been broken and replaced with a more sensible, flexible approach based on what actually works," General Secretary Fran Heathcote said. "This has been a long campaign and reaching a deal members could accept reflects the determination of PCS members at ONS, the hard work of their reps and the value of trade unionism."
Headhunters? More like breadhunters: On top of career coaching and résumé building, reverse-recruiting agencies often take the keys and apply to dozens of jobs on an applicant's behalf. In exchange, these startups can charge monthly fees north of $1,000 and/or take a cut of their clients' salaries once they find a job, per WSJ. A conventional recruiter told WSJ that he's somewhat uneasy about people handing reverse recruiters their LinkedIn or Workday logins, as well as the idea of charging job seekers.
We need someone who has that native fluency, who understands the platforms, who is living and breathing the zeitgeist. But they also have to be someone who can understand the strategy of the business. There's no one on the team right now that we feel like could do this job.
