The Patriots enter the 2026 offseason in a far different position than in recent years, primarily because Mike Vrabel is returning as head coach rather than Robert Kraft having to conduct another search, as he has since 2023. That's a positive after the devastating Super Bowl loss, but it was a productive and impressive season. That doesn't mean, however, that Vrabel might not make some changes to his coaching staff, particularly on defense, as most Patriots fans know, Terrell Williams was hired as the defensive coordinator but had to miss the 2025 season due to a cancer diagnosis.

When the New York Rangers hired Mike Sullivan to replace Peter Laviolette, many were thrilled. Sullivan, a former back-to-back Stanley Cup winning coach, felt like a huge upgrade from Laviolette, and a potential overseer of a comeback season. Sullivan was the right coach to bring the Rangers back from their blip of a season and get the most out of this veteran core.

Montoya had previously alluded to joining Bay FC in a youth-facing role after the club announced he was stepping down as head coach late last season. He told this news organization that Bay FC offered him the role of director of coaching for the club's future youth academy, but he declined, citing a desire to spend more time coaching and watching his son Michael, a junior soccer player at Mountain View High.
