Jiří Felcman signed a PTO contract with the Rockford IceHogs for the rest of this season, followed by a three-year entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Blackhawks prospect Sacha Boisvert. He's a healthy scratch tonight for the Terriers. Of course that's driving a lot of speculation that Boisvert, who's been open about his intention of turning pro after this season, could be joining the Blackhawks sooner than later.

From the team's release: Rodrigue, 25, appeared in two NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers during the 2024-25 campaign, logging a 0-1-0 record, a 3.10 goals-against average and a .862 save percentage. He also competed in a career-high 41 American Hockey League (AHL) games with the Bakersfield Condors last season, posting an 18-16-8 record, a 3.12 GAA, a .897 SV% and one shutout.

As we continue with the Olympic break, I thought this was an interesting read from Thomas Drance and Harman Dayal at The Athletic. They wrote about the Vancouver Canucks possibly targeting reclamation projects as they embark on their rebuild - and there's a Blackhawks twist. The irony, of course, is the Blackhawks getting really good hockey from Jason Dickinson and Ilya Mikheyev AND two second-round picks as... wait for it... reclamation projects. Nice job of internal asset evaluation there by Vancouver for sure, eh?

It was pretty hard a year for me and for the team, of course. But I think just this year, it's been such a different experience, and I've really enjoyed it so far. The way we are with each other, it's so positive and so much joy in our room. I think it shows on the ice, and we've been able to have some success, but now it's time to keep it going and make that push.

The wake up on Monday morning only five points out of a wild card spot in the Western Conference - close enough that there will be potentially important games down the stretch. Protas comes out of the lineup after he missed some of Washington's loss to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday, after Senators defenseman Artem Zub sent him crashing into the boards with a dangerous trip in Thursday's first period. The Belarusian winger went skates-first into the boards and was very slow to get up. The 24-year-old forward did return to the game and skated 14:55 of total ice time in the 4-3 defeat.

When Matthews scored the game-tying goal in the third period, he put his hand to his ear gesturing to the crowd to "make more noise" which is pretty embarassing to do to your own fanbase. If you flashback seven years ago to an incredible regular season game on Oct. 7, 2018 against Chicago, Matthews did the same thing when he scored a go-ahead goal gesturing more that "I can't hear you", before Patrick Kane did the same thing back to him when he tied

Capitalizing on a Blackhawks turnover early in the second period, the Kings opened the scoring. Trevor Moore picked up the puck on the halfwall before dishing one cross-ice to Warren Foegele, who unloaded on the five-hole on Blackhawks goaltender Spencer Knight. The only two players who recorded a point on Thursday night against the Blackhawks. Halfway through the second, Foegele came inches away from his second of the game, being robbed by Knight on a 2-on-0 shorthanded chance with Quinton Byfield.
