Whoever is the target of a particular sticky type of stereotype, particularly a fear-inducing one, you'll see that particular group spike, says hate crime expert Brian Levin. Overall hate-crime incidents fell 11% in 2025 from the previous year, but anti-Latino hate crimes rose 18% to a record 1,014 incidents.
A group of 12 Republicans in the South Carolina House of Representatives introduced H-5501, a concurrent resolution that calls on the state to 'reject the Supreme Court of the United States' Obergefell decision and to call on the Supreme Court to reverse Obergefell and restore the natural law definition of marriage.'
The federal government is pursuing a multi-layered detention expansion plan that has already pushed the number of people held in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody past 70,000, with stated goals of reaching more than 100,000.
The moment a case is ruled a suicide, it's no longer investigated as a potential homicide. It defies logic to assume someone climbed eight or nine feet into a tree with a noose around their neck and hanged themselves. These cases deserve thorough homicide investigations from the start to ensure justice and accountability.
On Thursday, Mississippi Today reported that several officials, who requested anonymity out of fear of retribution, said NPS told them to remove visitor brochures from the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Home National Monument and edit out details about Beckwith. Among the details reportedly flagged for removal: that Evers was found lying in a pool of blood after he was shot. The Georgia jury was not so forgiving of a parent who gave an AR-15 to a 14-year-old child. Two amendments were ultimately added to the bill following the debate on the House floor: One would threaten up to life in prison for giving abortion pills to a pregnant person without their knowledge. (Administering drugs without consent is already a crime, but this amendment dramatically escalates the penalty.) The other makes it illegal to raise funds or distribute money to buy abortion pills, potentially destroying the crucial and life-saving work of abortion funds.
Yeah, what's the difference? I mean, it must be exhausting with these people's mental gymnastics. Like, okay, okay. Let's use for the sake of argument, let's use their logic. And then that anybody that interferes or MP with law enforcement will meet the consequences. Let's use that logic. Okay. By that logic, every single person at January 6th should have been shot dead! By their logic! I'm not suggesting that let's be a hundred percent clear.
