Ten07 Unicorn Pony is a compact, agile cargo bike with internal routing, rack mounts, belt-drive compatibility, and capacity up to 130kg total load.
A little while back, we took a look at a large cargo bike from Urban Arrow that had some interesting features: a drive train that sported continuous variable gearing and a belt drive. But it was difficult to get a feel for what using that drivetrain was like when it was being used to shift a large and extremely heavy cargo bike. So, I jumped at the opportunity when Urban Arrow's sister company, Gazelle, offered a chance to ride one of its new Arroyo models, which feature the same drivetrain, but this time coupled to a fairly standard commuter bike.
For many singlespeeders, the option to add a multi-geared drivetrain is a nice option when you need it. But what happens when you want that multi-geared option to be a Pinion gearbox? Apparently, you just have to get Curtis Inglis to make you a wild trellis-like Pinion-to-SS adapter. Simple. OK, this adapter is anything but simple - but it's certainly a thing of beauty. Utilizing the mounting points of the Pinion gearbox, the adapter simply positions a bottom bracket shell where it would be if the frame wasn't built for a Pinion in the first place.
