"For many singlespeeders, the option to add a multi-geared drivetrain is a nice option when you need it. But what happens when you want that multi-geared option to be a Pinion gearbox? Apparently, you just have to get Curtis Inglis to make you a wild trellis-like Pinion-to-SS adapter. Simple. OK, this adapter is anything but simple - but it's certainly a thing of beauty. Utilizing the mounting points of the Pinion gearbox, the adapter simply positions a bottom bracket shell where it would be if the frame wasn't built for a Pinion in the first place."
"The back end has a swinging dropout for adjusting chain tension, and there is a split in the seat stay to allow for a belt drive for the gearbox. In addition to the singlespeed adapter, the bike was also gaining a lot of attention for its anodized finish. The work of Agave Finishworks, the bike's owner Robert asked Agave to finish the bike in the style of a classical Japanese silkscreen on parchment paper. You know, just your typical anodizing job. Both Curtis and Agave Finishworks knocked it out of the park with this one."
A trellis-like adapter was fabricated to allow a Pinion gearbox to be mounted to a singlespeed frame by using the gearbox mounting points. The adapter positions a bottom bracket shell where it would normally be on a non-Pinion frame. The rear of the adapter includes a swinging dropout for chain-tension adjustment and a split seat stay to accommodate a belt drive for the gearbox. The bicycle features a distinctive anodized finish created by Agave Finishworks in the style of a classical Japanese silkscreen on parchment paper. Curtis Inglis and Agave Finishworks completed the build and finish.
